Monnet Zubieta
Monnet’s passion and mission is to bring more joy and laughter to her life and the lives of others. She went to her first Laughter Club in 2007 and was instantly hooked. In that same year she met and studied with Dr. Kataria, to become a Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher. In 2012 she made her first trip to India where studied one on one with him for 3 weeks to become one of only 10 Master Laughter Yoga Trainers in the world. Monnet started practicing yoga in 1992 when she lived at the Kundalini Yoga Center in Kobe, Japan. She has enjoyed practicing a variety of styles of yoga since then. Last year she completed a one month International Yoga Teacher Training course in Dharamsala with the Samyak yoga teachers. Now she loves offering Hasya Vinyasa classes. Hasya is the sanskrit word for laughter and one definition of vinyasa is, integrating movement and breath. So we bring the child like playfulness, unconditional joy and giggles from L aughter Yoga to the asana and pranayama practice. Monnet has found that it is more fun laughing with others than alone, so she leads laughter clubs a couple of times a week, facilitates two day Laughter Yoga Leader trainings. She also presents Laughter Yoga at various venues; including conferences, festivals, in retreat settings, at schools, for businesses, at senior centers and in a variety of health care facilities with both staff and patients. Monnet now spends half the year teaching communication courses at Santa Rosa Junior College and the other half of the year traveling around India studying and practicing Raja yoga, Bhakti yoga, Karma yoga, Jnana yoga and Laughter Yoga.
